So after almost a month on Duromine, I've lost 5 kilos. I probably shouldn't be disappointed, because it is something, but I was hoping for more.
The Duromine isn't suppressing my appetite as much anymore, so for my next month of pills I am going to ask my doctor about prescribing me the higher dose. I have been eating better, and have cut out a lot of bad food, so I'm pretty happy with that.
I've been under a whole lot of stress lately with work, and so I have been feeling absolutely exhausted and not able to exercise. I have had no side effects at all...Sleeping well, no dry mouth or anything like that. For me it was just the first few days.
One thing that did happen is that I went away for the Australia Day long weekend, and forgot to pack my anxiety medication with me. I realised I was meant to take my script with me when it was already too late, but I chose not to panic. I still remembered to take the Duromine each morning, but my nightly anxiety one i went without for a few days.
On day 3 of not having my medication I was an absolute mess. I could not stop crying. I was so, so emotional and couldn't keep myself together. I wasn't able to sleep properly. And when I tried to sleep, I cried even more. By the time we got back from being away it was late so I went to bed but it just got worse. My boyfriend was actually worried about the drastic effects so he drove me to the doctors/pharmacy to get it. I was due back at work next day and knew that if I didn't get it I would be even worse at work. I burst into tears while speaking to the pharmacist and she had to walk me outside to see that I had someone there to drive me.
I'm not sure if the bad reaction was worse because of the Duromine..Since I was taking one and not the other for a couple of days..But it was bad. I wouldn't recommend to stop taking other important medication while on it.
I'm looking forward to starting the 40mg tablets and seeing if there is a difference with the appetite suppression and the energy.
