Today is my 7th day of 30mg Duromine and I've lost 1kg but that varies each morning (goes back up to 80 then down to 78 back up etc). Im 155cm 81kg, 20 yrs old. I went on duromine in 2011 and lost 10kg in a month so decided to go back on it as I'm having trouble keeping my eating habits in check.
This time on Duromine I've had all the bad side effects, dry mouth, diahorrea, insomia and nausea
im not eating as much but still feeling hungry and when I do eat its something small. But its not a rapid no hunger feeling.
Can someone help me, not sure what I'm doing wrong :(

Hi Katep,

I am on duromine 30mg and currently on day 8.

Firstly, i think what you are "doing wrong" is checking your weight everyday. STOP!
Your body weight fluctuates depending on the amount of water weight you hold. It has taken alot for you to come this far to accept you need help, and you are not helping yourself by feeling deated by the scales. When you do step on the scales (i do weekly weigh in), do so first thing in the morning after you go to the toilet. :)
Have you taken your measurements? If you feel you havent lost any weight in a specific week, comparing your inches is a touch down for a happy dance. Dont forget that your weight, might also be you adding muscle.

Dry mouth & also those mild headaches - drink water. I have a 750ml pump bottle in my face 24/7. It encourages me to drink. Taking little sips helps keep you hydrated and prevents that water bloat, and ensures a happy poop*

Diarrhea - your body is detoxing sweety. Your body is getting rid of ALL that crap it has been holding on to for all this time. Your body is cleansing itself, and your diarrhea will settle soon enough. I personally would stay hydrated and let it run its course.

Insomnia - what time do you take your tablet? This will play a BIG factor in your sleeping routine. I take mine at 4am and go to bed at night for a healthy sleep at 9-930pm. Some mornings i am up and stay up, others i roll over and go back to bed.

Nausea / acid reflux / lack of energy - is your body saying EAT SOMETHING! From what i have read on these blogs is that if you do not eat anything and just expect the weight to fall off, when its time to stop Duromine you will gain it ALL back on. These little niggly feed me hunger pains is a good thing. You need to work with your body, train it and break out of those nasty habits you have been harboring.

26, 5"2ft starting weight 67kg.
Goal weight: 55kg
current weight: 64.9kg

I am a mum of 3, and I survived on coffee, and usually a high carb dinner at night. Before bed.. BIG MISTAKE!
Since being on Duromine, when my body says im hungry or i feel nauseous - i eat something. I am now a SNACKER* I eat a banana, a hard boiled egg or a handful of nuts. As i would like to tone and lose weight i have adapted a high protein low carb diet. So no carbs after 12pm / lunch time. I boil 6 eggs at a time and leave them in the fridge, also have a container of nuts on the bench for a quick snack idea. I cut up bite sized celery, carrot, capsicum etc to pick at as i please. I have 1 coffee, when i get up in the morning. I was unsure about coffee to begin with as i didnt want to over stimulate myself or have heart palpitations. Which none has occurred. *winning* I walk as much as i can. I do things at a quicker then normal pace to keep my heart rate up.
My only down side is the "come down" in the evening. Little things annoy me and i can become emotional during this time. I am yet to find a way around this. I'm sure if i keep looking and tweaking my routine, i will find something that works.

Hope this has helped. Xo
