Week 1 down... still nothing

Today marks one week since I started Duromine 15mg and I have not lost a single gram.

Despite having no changes to my sleep patterns, I am tired all the time and have begun to feel nauseous. Yesterday I hardly ate, was still hungry but turned off my food, still the same weight, whether i eat or not. Thyroid is all normal, estrogen is "very healthy" and nothing stands out in my bloods.

Exercising rather intensely, i do a minimum of an 8 km power walk everyday, consume roughly 1200 calories, watch the carbs, drink lots of water ( except for Sunday ) though i cannot see how that would change anything. I feel bigger as well.

This is somewhat disheartening. This was my last resort. I will persevere to finish the packet and hopefully my GP allows an increase in the dose. Maybe 30mg might help. I was once on Topamax to lose weight as an off-label alternative and i gained weight with that too. So I am wondering if i am a lost cause?

Hello Daylan. Sorry to hear you have no results… Did you try skipping a day or two to re-start Duromine? It helped some people to let Duromine kick in. Obviously, your body isn’t willing to part with the extra weight. I think you should use a couple of different calculators on the Internet to count the amount of calories you need to consume daily. Not sure/don’t remember you current and goal weight… You might be eating too little to let the metabolism gear up. Adding up your high physical activity… and here we go. . your body is in stress and does its best to not lose the “precious” deposits in case everything gets even worse. On days when you exercise heavily, you need to consume more calories…

I hope everything starts changing in a better direction soon. Chin up! Try until it starts working. Best of luck!
