I don’t know what to expect....

So, I’m 28 and I’m trying Duromine 30mg as my last ditch effort before I contemplate having weight loss surgery.

I’ve battled with weight my whole life, minus a few years in my prime as an early adult, after having a child though it all went to crap (that was 9 years ago). I have 46kg to lose so I’m in for a huge journey but I need to do this for my self and for my son. I don’t truely think I can be happy in a relationship until I am happy and comfortable within myself.

So I know about the headaches and the insomnia and I’m wondering what people do to mitigate the risk of this happening?

Welcome @Need this to work! :). It's great that you have found yourself at the forums!

Headaches: The answer is water. Make sure you are continuously drinking.

Most when starting Duromine cut out their sugars and cut down on their caffeine intake and this will contribute to the headaches. Sugar withdrawal can be brutal, and for that matter so can caffeine. If you can remember to keep drinking down your water, it will really help. If you cant shake the headache don't be afraid to have a couple of Panadol to help move it along.

Insomnia: Ok different things work for everyone.

You can try epsom salt baths or lavender oil on a tissue under your pillowcase. Some people will exercise later in the evening to help make the body physically tired. Others will set their alarm to have their tablet really early like at 3am in the morning - have it then go back to sleep and wake at their normal time.

The insomnia generally settles down after a couple of weeks when your body adjusts.

Hope this helps!

And cant wait to read more about your journey :)
