Nervous newbie

Hi all,

I've been reading the forums for a week now and have decided to give Duromine a go! I'm seeing my gp tonight so fingers crossed he prescribes it for me!

Bit of background about me:

I'm 24 years old and I live in Victoria, Australia. I hate to say this but I'm 108kgs, the heaviest I've ever been. I also have PCOS and was diagnosed earlier this year after years of tests. I've tried every diet under the sun and about a month ago I decided I just needed to eat right and exercise without using any other fad diets so thats what my partner and I did. A week ago we jumped on the scales. My partner had lost 6 kilos so I was hopeful that I'd have a similar result. I was proud as I hadn't had any junk food, I cut sugar out (I could down a block in one sitting, it's my biggest problem) and hadn't had any soft drink as well as increasing my exercise. When I stood in the scales, disbelief occurred as the number on the scales had gone up by +1kg. It was so disheartening after seeing my partners results. I don't even know how it's possible but it lead me here and to the decision to ask my gp for duromine.

I haven't told anyone about this decision as I don't want to be judged. I'm hoping if I can get duromine that I'll be able to use this forum for support and to keep me accountable and on track! I'm so sick of feeling disappointed and unhappy. I just need help to kick start my weight loss.

Thanks for reading a bit about me! Fingers crossed my gp gets on board to help me! Will report back tonight :)

Thanks Rob84! My GP is making me go for a blood test then he said he will put me on Duromine. Just wants to make sure my everything else is clear before we go to that step. All things going well I should be on duromine by next week!

Fingers crossed for a positive decision from your GP and hope on seeing you here next week, sharing the beginning of a successful weight loss journey! =)

PS. You might need to have smaller portions of food than your partner… that might be the issue. Besides, there are soooo many products that seem to be dietetic, and in fact are calorie bombs… so nutrition might need adjustment.

Thanks April! Fingers crossed :)

I haven't been eating the same portion size as him. I wish it was that simple. It seems no matter how hard I try, nothing is working for me. Hopefully duromine will help kick start. On a positive note, at least I'm making healthy changes and sticking to them now in preparation for duromine.
