Prescribed Duromine

Hi, First day on Duromine was Friday 4th July 2014, a friend contacted me on Facebook and told me she had lost over 15kg in two months with Duromine. I grilled her about the drug for a couple of hours, then began trolling this forum and others (negative and positive) for as much information as possible. I weighed in at the doctors on Thursday at 116kg's, I have lost around 7kg's in the last couple months from a few simple changes to my routine but it wasn't going fast enough for me.

So, at 116kg's, with my age and height (187cm) that put my BMI at 33. I will need loose at least 30kg's to achieve my healthy weight. So I spoke to my GP and he arranged a weight loss plan for me, including low calorie diet, regular weigh-ins, a first mile-stone of less than 100kg and of course he prescribed Duromine 40mg. <---------- is it normal to start straight on 40mg? I have read some people start on a lower dosage and increase is later?

Where I live is extremely isolated (small town approximately 480km west of Brisbane) so I don't have access to a gym or personal trainers or anything like that, I barely have access to fresh fruit and veg. What I would like to know from anyone is if there are any handy tips or tools you could suggest that would help with my isolation (really nutritional veg, something that has/is working for you). I have already downloaded the MyFitnessPal app upon suggestion in another blog and three days in it is great for tracking calorie intake. I have not started exercising yet as I am waiting for a few side-effects to cool off, but when I do I intend on cycling as my main exercise activity. I am a student studying a Bachelor of IT through CQU's Distance program so I don't get an overall amount of exercise during the day. <---------- does any one know of any other effective forms of exercise? There is a ton of info on the net, but none seem designed for someone in my situation - taking Durominem, etc, I also have 3 pins in my knee after a car accident so walking or strenuous/excessive use is not a good option.

If you suffered reading through all that and can help I would appreciate it.
Cheers, Cal
