I am so psyched to be starting this journey tomorrow. About me: 43 year old Sydneysider who has always struggled with weight. Have always been lucky in that I have always been healthy and active and my weight hasn't affected my health. A typical fit fat person. But the last 2 years I've put on 20kgs and I despite my efforts I just haven't been able to move it.
So I approached the GP last week, initially asking about the new drug saxenda. Duromine wasn't really on my radar. I actually had success 20 years ago when I took phen/fen in the US when I lived there. I didnt realize phenteremine was still available. But 20 years is a long time and I am 20 kgs heavier than when I started that experience. So I am happy to give it another shot. I've spent too many years thinking I can do it on my own.
I thought I'd do a weekly update to keep myself accountable. My plan? Haven't thought about food too much, I remember completely losing my appetite previously so will be focussed on healthy eating, 3 meals/day. I don't plan on counting calories, well not initially anyway, and see how that works. I already train a few days a week so will try to get a few more in and focus on working harder in those sessions.
My vices? Cheese and wine!
My concerns? I already struggle with sleep so am hoping that isn't affected too much.
My first goal - 10 kgs in month one.
Wish me luck : )
