For anyone wanting to know what I do to keep fit.
Cardio!!!!
Yeah I fell for the lift heavy weight training hype and then the High Intensity balls to wall training craze but you know what? After 7 years I’ve learned that I gain muscle incredibly quickly and lose fat incredibly slowly so I’m back to what is tried and true.
Good old aerobics, distance jogging and speed walking. Low intensity sustainable fitness.
30-40 minutes has me comfortable sweaty, out of breathe and happily energised.
I love exercising at home but I’m no stranger to the gym. If I’m heading out for a session I jog miles on the treadmill (1% incline for comfort) do 10 minutes ab work to improve my posture and that’s it.
I chose activities I would keep up forever not just a few months (burpees no thanks). I also stopped associating exercise with calories burned and only see exercise as a means to stay fit and have fun just like in my childhood.
Calories are for the kitchen.
