Week 18 - Got my mojo back.

After last weeks gain I was shocked into really making sure I do the right thing this week.
I NEVER want to have two weeks gain in a row. Yikes!
I diligently wrote down everything in my food diary and ensured I stayed within my calorie limits. Drank heaps of water and did at least 10,000 steps a day by hopping on the treadmill for an hour each morning - I actually managed around 13,000 to 15,000 a day.

Results:
Todays weight: 93.7 kg. Down from last week's 96.1 giving me a 2.4 kg loss this week. My total loss in 4 months + 1 week is 23.3 kg. My BMI has gone from 40 down to 32.Only 21 more kilos and I will be in a healthy weight range. So I am over half way to being in my healthy weight range.
A healthy weight for me is between 58 and 72 kilos. 72 kilos now seems reachable. I would like to be sitting comfortably in this range though.

I must have been having a 'fat day' last Tuesday. Looking back over my weight loss, it seems that I put on or struggle to lose the week before I get my period. Then I have a good loss in the week I have it. Kind of making up for the prior week. The week before I am PMS-ing and find it hard to resist snacking, bloated and not feeling like exercising. The gain or small loss then makes me motivated to get working. I need to figure out a way to get a good loss in the week before. This month I am planning to put a huge effort in that week and see what happens. I may even put a reminder in my phone to get me going. See if I can trick mother nature.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week.

Sharon xoxo

Wow Sharon 2.4kg loss this week fantastic effort :) not long now & you will be in the magic 80's ...I'm so happy for you ... I find that I too have issues with my weight during my monthly cycle... Yep that's right I'm still waiting on the 'change' I don't believe it's ever going to happen  lol my Dr said I am lucky can you believe it  I'm a bloody grandmother ha ha !! Anyway it's that time of the month for me too so im not expecting a loss this week :(however I am sticking to my cals & doing my exercise as planed ... Even requested a special salad for my Lunch at work training tomorrow instead of cakes and the usual lunch everyone at work has :p ...have a great week wishing you a lighter scale next Tuesday :)

Hi Sharon. Great loss... So so so very happy to read about your results.
I have made a habit not to weigh when it's that time of the month, unfortunately our bodies hold onto extra water during this time so we seem to be heavier than what we really are. Avoid the scale 2 days before and 2 days after you've had your visit from aunt flow.
You are doing so well, just remember that you are but only human.

Haha shellyisme. I too have grand babies. My stepson has a two year old and a three month old and they have just left after a five day visit. I don't know how I coped. Boy littlies are hard work!
My daughter made me get my hormone levels checked as she thinks I am going through 'the change'. I think it is her that is changing (and not in a nice way). Any how. My GP also said that menopause is a way off. I'm as regular as clockwork though.
Not really looking forward to it. Except for the lack of a visit from Aunt Flo. Sounds like everything dries up and hot flushes don't sound like fun.

Yes totally right all my friends who have gone through the change talk about the hot flushes not a pretty sight :eek:.... I'm so over my periods I can't wait for the change minus the hot flushes

I too suffer from all the above you have all mentioned, and I find just when I am getting fit and and my mind is "food" right ,then PMS comes along and knocks me for a six ,and IT TAKES AT LEAST 3 days for me to get my mojo back again.. I really am trying this month to not see"aunty flow" as a threat or obstacle anymore in my life but rather as a challenge, I have done some research or what foods to eat ,what foods to avoid , and exercise before pms ,during and after ... I have been taking primrose oil for months now and it does alleviate symptoms to a degree... but after turning 45 I have noticed that my ovaries give me more trouble than ever before, I had a sonogram done last month .. and all seems well with my kidneys, and bladder and all my woman bits, so it remains a mystery, so I have opted for the ,eating and exercise routine to see if it will make any huge difference this month ..will let you all know it id works or not ....Smick you are doing so well, you are such an inspiration to me, each week , well done on your loss and fat percentage and BMI ...

Remember we do not have to do rigorous workouts when aunty flow is around, floor work is just as effective and actually helps those muscles to relax and be a little less painful...Eating less Dairy and caffeine during aunty flows visit also helps with less cramps, fatigue , and water retention and headaches...

Not sure about you but I find I have that one day of energy where I can pick up a house, car and clean 5 mansions, then he the one day of absolute exhaustion and cannot even crawl or roll out of the bed in the morning... usually accompanied by a water bottle , meds and feeling very sorry for myself, and the whole family staying away from like I have the plague or something ,hahahahah ....Have an awesome week ladies, so good to know I am not alone , and that we face these challenges together ,may we find results soon too ...
