I have returned, reluctantly. I say "reluctantly" because I am going to miss my sleep-ins, and my evening glass of wine. But mostly because I put in a massive effort during my first attempt with Duromine 30 mg, and ended up gaining 3 kg by the end of 2 months. Seriously, Duromine is NOT cheap! And efficiency wise, I could have spent $200 on delicious meals and gain 3kg, and NOT endure the nasty side effects! And I went all-in last time too: Exercise Physiologist and Nutritionist as well as my GP. All three were stumped as to why my weight went up instead of down.
So I recently visited my doctor again. I had a few more symptoms to add to the weight gain:
I know, I sound very negative and pessimistic - I think the exhaustion is just getting to me. Apologies to anyone who has come across this blog and has stuck with this post so far. Let me assure you, I AM taking this quite seriously. I have created my own template on Microsoft Word as a daily journal of how I am feeling as well as exercise, food and quality/duration of sleep. Also, I have logged back into MyFitnessPal to keep a good eye on my caloric intake, as well as the proportions of macronutrients I am consuming. The best part about MyFitnessPal is that for each diary day completed, you can print the report (I'm not receiving benefits for endorsing MyFitnessPal, I swear! haha). My goal is to keep a detailed log of my day to day so that we can piece together what is going wrong with my body.
I have attached my "Day 1" report for an example.
I am hoping to update every couple of days or so. Fingers crossed for some positive results!!!
So I recently visited my doctor again. I had a few more symptoms to add to the weight gain:
- Fatigue (even after 8+ hours sleep daily from 10:30pm - 6:30am)
- Joint Pain (mostly in my hips, but also in my knees, shoulders and back)
- Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (Hives) - This isn't new. I started getting these mid 2014.
- Headaches - Every. Damn. Day....
