Oh I have a lancer , well did until son got his licence now have the Corolla sports they are nice too, I named my lancer anteater as the grill reminds me of one but they do have nice asses!!

Thank you:) yes it's like a new start to life for me, absolutely crazy...
and for some reason I just love lancers, so I want like one of the newer ones that has all the top features and yes the ass is the best part! No other car compares for me haha. I just have an old 96 lancer at the moment. I had a great day however think I went over my calories and I may today as well but if I do I'll just make up for it throughout the week :) also thank you mumo3girls for the bday wish :) hope you are all well xxx
 
So, today I had my first day of Duromine. Whilst it wasn't good, it wasn't bad either.
Here's how it went;

  • I took the tablet at 5am and then I went back to bed for a bit. I thought that if I took it any later then I probably wont sleep tonight (kind of glad I made that decision because I'm not tired at all).
  • At 6 am (I had no change in how I felt in the way of energy or anything. I felt the same as I always do in the morning.... ONE GIANT GRUMP) I got up and went to the gym in the apartment building. Half of the machines in there didn't work at all which sucked. So I did some free weights and danced around the room for about an hour or so, actually a good and fun way to break out a sweat. Man am I glad that there was no one else in that room hahaha.
  • Went back to the apartment, got ready for work and off I went. It wasn't until I was in the shower and getting ready that I realised that I could just keep going and going and going and going. My boyfriend also noticed that I seemed a bit more energised bouncing around the apartment and not my usual grump face.
  • At work, I didn't feel the need to go for coffee after coffee, and I also didn't feel the need to snack. I had my breakfast, I had some lunch (I didn't feel like it, so I just ate a little... I took left overs from dinner the night before which was chicken and some steamed vegetables). OH! AND IT WAS CAKE DAY IN THE OFFICE. Of all the days that I go back to work, and start this thing... IT WAS CAKE DAY. Whilst the idea of cake seemed super freaking amazing, I saw it, I smelt it, I couldn't do it. The smell and looking at it made me want to barf. So I went back to my desk, with my huge glass of beautiful, pure h2o sent from the aqua gods, and enjoyed every second of it. Thanks aqua Gods.
  • So the rest of the day went pretty quick, and the day felt easy because I was busy. I didn't feel the need to eat again until around 6:30 this evening. My step mum made a curry which was so nice. But again I found myself staring at the content of my bowl wondering if I could actually eat. I ended up forcing myself to eat. I served up myself a serving MUCH smaller serving than usual, I finished it off but didn't find that I wanted to go for more. I was perfectly satisfied.
So that was a brief run down of how to day went. I don't feel as nervous or anything now, but I guess I will have to wait and see what tomorrow is like!

Mentally I wanted the cake... My inner food addict screamed for it.
But then the other part of me couldn't stomach the thought of it. Is that the Duromine talking?

maybe?! I know that when I started, I was amazed at the "eh" of it all.
Foods that would drive me insane trying to ignore became so easy to go without.... It was like I could acknowledge that I wanted it, but it didn't really phase me if I didn't have it.


It's not that easy now though hahahaha

Does anyone have any tips around how to manage the side effects?

So far, I just feel rather hyper and I seem to have a dull headache starting.

Welcome.
Lots of water.
Anything not processed.
Lean meats eggs and veg/salad and a bit of fruit.
Keep pasta, rice and bread to a minimum. I can't cut it out so I just have the smallest amount I can.

Welcome Tracy , mumo3girls is right.
I tend to eat a heap of fruit though and not so much meat only because I've gone off meat.
You can pick up some lean cuisine kind of meals for when your in a rush, I actually like the Woolworths on the go? Ones with mashed potato and chicken Kiev ummm yum but don't eat them much as it has meat . All those meals are relatively low in calories.
I also have a Thing for weetbix atm !!! Not sure why as I've not eaten them in years but they are low In fat too.
And rice crackers for a snack if you like that kind of thing?
Water I drink hardly any but I do drink about 4litres of coffee... Yep I'm a addict lol

Thanks! Really struggling to fall asleep :( almost 1am.... and not even sleepy. Did not feeling hungry at all feel weird to you?

The first few days I felt weird and didn't get to sleep as well as I usually would. I'm at day 7 today and I feel normal. The sleep will come. Make sure your doing a bit of exercise to kill some energy. I find that works best for me.

I know where your coming from Tracy, I was the same, couldn't eat anything, I drank water all day, but mainly Doc warned me to drink water or I will get headaches and said they can be really bad!
I was like micro sleeping, sleeping but wasn't, if that makes sense, Four days I was like that, I was actually going to stop them if I didn't sleep on the 5th,cause I had a anxious feeling as well, I finally slept a solid 6 hrs on the 5th day, the next day I slept 9 hrs, so it should only last 3 to 4 days until your body adjusts ,everyone is different if you read the threads
Drink water lots of it, or you will become dehydrated....

I slept for about 3 hours last night, woke up at 5 for my second dosage and then managed to doze off for about an hour :) so at this point I feel like I'm winning!

I've been drinking water like a maniac! It's awesome, water has never been my strong point. I do still feel a slight head ache, but nothing major. Definitely winning thus far!

Sorry for not replying earlier, I was on Duromine only for the trial week last year. It went well for me but I wasn't willing to pay the price of it (it's $100+ a packet). Now I've found out that I have PCOS so I'm going to be going back on it.

Now that I've seen your suggestions, I will definitely use them! Thank you =) With the carrot balls, are they just pure carrots or have you mixed them with something?

Have you been on Duromine from last year? How's your journey going?
 
Sooo this is a bit of an essay but I want to share and document every day so I stick to this weight loss pill instead of stopping after a week feeling like it doesn't work!! So basically my whole adult life I have been a size 10 and around 60kilos. I got pregnant at the start of last year and put on 26 kilos during the pregnancy. Afterwards I lost about ten in the first week but haven't lost a kilo since then. I am a full time stay at home mum so I have been able to excercise twice daily since three months after my daughter was born so for nine months I have been doing an hour to and hour and a half walk every morning and then going to the gym at night. I feel obviously a lot fitter but no change in weight or in cms so I am hoping that these tablets work!

Day 1. Metermine 30mg
SW: 76 kgs
GW: 60kgs

So far today I haven't felt any changes aside from a dry mouth and drinking a lot of water
Had a chicken and veggie stir fry for lunch
And some tuna and avocado with some crackers for a snack.

Day two. Metermine 30mg
Woke up at 7:15 thanks to my daughter and had my tablet.
Had a slice of rye toast with avocado and half a banana for breakfast. (That's normal for me)
Went for a walk for 30mins
Lunch was a chicken and quinoa salad with baby spinach.
Dinner was tuna and avocado sushi. So far I feel completely like myself and have had no side affects. Not entirely hungry but definitely can still eat as normal at this point in time.
