I read a very inspirational story a couple of weeks ago it was of a man who was very large, to be honest I was amazed he could walk.... he is now a 6th (approx) of that size and normal weight... and it all started with him sitting on his couch flapping his arms around like they do in the chicken dance.....it brought a tear to my eye knowing how hard that must have been..... but he did it!:) and now when I dance I incorporate the same moves in my arms too... ;)

Hi everyone well....

whats that noise you heard 13 hrs ago... well that was me yelling YES!! I am 101.9kg.... get out of here:eek:.... I even did it twice encase I was seeing things ;)nope I am under 102... going to the bathroom over the last 2 days has probably helped o_O

So I had a kiwi fruit for breakfast as I knew I was having morning tea... i am proud to say I shared a slice of a mars bar slice with a colleague.... I had one pod... you knows those chocolates with a biscuit base? topped with mars bar or bounty etc.. OMG....normally i would eat a pkt on my own so only having one was a huge effort and I mean huge... l ate dry biscuits with my hummus dip and someone brought a beetroot one in, it was as nice as the one I have at home but had 2-3x the calories. of the one I eat so I mostly ate my hummus with sakatas, I also had some red grapes ..plus I had my almond milk and coffee drink (April - knowing about sugar in the milk helped me today...I brought another brand before you mentioned the sugar and this one has 4.6 :eek:so I wont be buying it again even if it is organic) I skipped lunch and made that my early lunch as I had a few crackers.... dinner I had ham and salad with beetroot and a boiled egg... Ive also had a protein bar (those bars arrived today :rolleyes:) very nice dark choc with salty caramel so no biscuits tonight as Ive had a couple of treats

Its been a very busy day with work and then appointments so ,Ive only ridden 4km today and done 20 minutes on the vibration machine.. feeling a bit slack but will make up for it tomorrow

I will ride 1km before bed

Thank you and April for sharing the sugar information in the almond milk, since I love it too and I was shocked:eek: reading how much sugar it contains. I guess it's time to try soy milk. How’s it going? Btw, did you take any measurements? I have completely forgotten to ask you about these. Anapolis’ post reminded me… :rolleyes:Hopefully, you will see even more motivating results when you measure all the important parts.

Glad I did make you (and Kate :p) a bit alert on the content of drinks you consume. I know that now you will always check the sugar and will save your poor pancreas from unexpected extra work. ;)

Day 17 26th - Happy Australia day:laughing:

Being a public holiday I decided to not set my alarm and if i slept past 5am so be it and i did, I didn't have my tablet until 6 am at 9.30 I had a boiled egg and slice of toast for breakfast, for lunch we had a sausage in a roll with onion and cheese dinner was a bowl of cereal I wasn't well in the afternoon I had a couple of nectarines from the garden only they are small, a protein bar, and a reece (round one) + one boiled lollies I also had a coffee (my pretend one) with half almond milk and water I couldn't drink it all... plus water

Lucky I rode 7km in the morning so that only left me 3 to do later.... I also danced for 30 and did 10 on the vibration machine

I am pleased to say my reading is 101.8.... :)
 
Hi Kate, thank you :laughing: yes its so interesting usually I am counting carbs the other almond milk vita soy had .3 of sugar so I guess for me its a matter of reading labels before I buy... which I used to do... be careful of soy you need to buy organic due to chemicals etc have a great day

Hi April, Thank you I guess I have hit that point when its now or never the older you get the harder it is too I do have my odd treat but i know I must stop and not over do it instead of a whole packet its one or 2 from a packet I am realistic that I have a sweet tooth... I am also realistic that I can over indulge at times it wasn't every day but even once a week is way to much and now if i do eat something naughty I feel compelled to exercise to burn it off I didn't realise until yesterday when I was talking to mum that I was so guilty about my weight but i was..... to eat and hope no-one sees me do it tells me that I was aware I was way overweight but didnt want to admit it:(

Yes I have taken measurements... I will do them tonight again... my waist doesn't feel any smaller (trousers still fit) but I know my face is smaller and my legs/bottom...


okay I am off to work but i will be back later with my NEW weight :laughing:..

Well I should be excited but because I wasn't well yesterday afternoon :( I was pretty ill...it may be the reason I lost the weight? I will know tomorrow but this morning I weighed 101.4 so I expect it to be higher...I also re measured myself and ive only lost 1-2cm here and there:eek:? how can that be? how can i lose kilos and not cm? I knew I hadn't lost anything on my waist but still a cm:confused:? no need stressing im doing all the right things and Im sure it will show eventually... Its also that time of the month so that will be blowing my belly up too I know the other day when i looked it was the flattest I had seen it in ages:laughing:... not today...i should have measured then LOL damn but my legs? only a cm too... oh well that smaller dress size has to wait :p

I ate a boiled egg and blood plum for breakfast and snacked on some trail mix I had some cristini sticks for lunch (8)with a little bit of dip (tummy is still a bit off) Ive also had a protein bar and had a chicken and avocado sandwich for dinner I had no husks for 2 days due to my upset tummy:cool: oh and lots of water :laughing:

Ive ridden 7kms so far and done 10 min on the vibration machine, if i dont feel too unwell I will ride another 3kms before bed oh and I am riding 1 km at another level higher I started yesterday:)

Hi Dee! I was on Duromine about 6 weeks ago and lost ten kilos. Decided to take a couple months off and am going to start again next week :) Im wanting to make sure im gaining healthy habits by taking some time off. Have gained 4 kilos back in the six weeks off unfortunetly but small steps haha.. Loving reading your daily posts, youre doing really well! Each little bit adds up to something in the end!

Wow! Stop there, lady! You’re in THAT period of month, so why on earth you decided to make measurements now. Not serious… Forget it all and let’s get back to this question in a week or so. Right now, your body is CRAZY! I gain a couple of pounds before, during and a couple of days after these days. And you mentioned bloating… keep up! Everything will get back to… great!

Yet, you might find it harder these days to keep fighting your cravings. Be careful, my dear. You do know what you are allowed to eat, if you’re dying for something sweet, don’t you? Oh yes, and you should hide the scales for a couple of days. It’s obvious, I think…

Keep your head high, be strong and keep fighting!

Hi Krystal, wow thats amazing... pity you put some back on, but great news is you realised before you put it all on....:laughing:I was a smoker years ago its sort of the same you stop then start then when its time, you quit for good...main thing is not to give up till you change those habits...I can totally relate to healthy habits once we stop.... I want to loose max amount I can in a short time and if I dont eat i know that will happen fast but so will putting it back on... I also know I have a sweet tooth so if/when I do treat myself I know it must be in moderation and I must work hard to burn it off or substitute something else.. like last week I ate morning tea (treats in moderation) but skipped lunch and worked out a bit harder I know thats not the best way to do things but if it works and keeps me on track without it being a habit I think its okay (Kate and April might not?).

I am thinking I will keep posting here even after I stop duromine (hopefully thats allowed)... to ensure I practice what I preach... and get advise or assistance as I believe it will assist me in keeping on track by recording what I am doing, but I must be honest good or bad... I am thinking 12 months should replace all bad habits and it will no longer be thought but a natural way of living my life... my dr was going to put me on 40 next time i see her but I might stay on 30 as I think its good to have a little craving and use my will power to stop it... then if I hit a wall on the 3rd month (if I am still on it) I might change then, I am also realistic and know that D is stopping most of my cravings now, and I am doing the rest :eek: wish it was all me now LOL

I might (probaly) need surgery to remove fibroid s so Ive asked my specialist if I do, can we postpone it... I would love a good 2- 3 months to change my habits set up a routine before surgery or IVF. I know duromine must be stopped at least 2 weeks before surgery and then exercise I will have to stop till I heal I will have to see what I can and cant do...:( I will know next week

Ha ha thank goodness you said that!!! been playing on my mind.... well I thought my belly might be bloated but my legs there the ones doing most of my work... dancing riding the bike etc but I will measure when I go for 4 week weigh in (next Sunday with Dr and Monday since I started D) :laughing: Im not going to stress about it... I have a new weight!!!! :eek::laughing::eek:.... dont want to get too excited as I said I haven't been 100% but still thinking about it now I could be under 100 by my 4 week weigh in, if not 100's will do Il take that :)

Im doing good so far ;) I had a reece (gosh I love them) the other day I haven't had another since (there are 4 left partner has had the others)... there is so many lollies and chocolates around the house biscuits etc... but I am use to it...I may have another reece tomorrow I have sat next to a block of chocolate for a week... before D i would say have a few rows of choc, some lollies, a couple of biscuits etc but never finish them unless it was reece or pods then I could easily eat the lot... or those cones that have marshmallow and sherbet in them:eek: LOL If I am told I cant have something I crave it more... my partner said the other day i was going to buy some reece but i know you would eat it all I said no I wouldn't I would actually like to have one... and I have shown him thats true, they have been there nearly a week, he looked yesterday and said how many have you had I said only the one from the other day :p Thanks duromine as I wont be pigging out! I do have some protein dark choc bar with salted caramel, it has 67 cal and has 3 squares so I have a piece here and there and no more than a bar in a day thats if I feel like something sweet... and its not that sweet as its dark choc so a bit bitter...

I dont want to waste this time I have been given with D, as I really dont have time to loose... im not in my 30's or early 40's so if I pig out that will set me back...

Ha ha Lucky I missed your comment about the scales LOL its a good reading today my best yet:cool:... but as I said I am realistic that it could be because I have been ill and it will catch up in a day or so... so even thou i jump on Im not fully excited because of things that could be causing it if that makes sense? I get a little excited thinking what if that is my reading... imagine by the end of the week. If I keep going down that would be fabulous o_O

Ok I better go and get on my bike... I havent ridden today have a great day/night

Day 19 (woo hoo) nearly at 3 weeks

Hi Everyone :)

Todays weight is 101kg im not too excited because I have been ill so i am expecting it to go back up but who knows with a bit of luck It might just keep going down o_O

I had a poached egg on toast for breaky and snacked on a slice of fruit cake, a cuppa tea and a coffee drink this morning, lunch was 6 cristini sticks and 3 of those with some hummus with chilli i know i shouldn't have had the chilli with my bad tummy... but hey so far so good;) dinner was a slice of ricotta and spinach pastry... I have had two squares of my protein bar ... plus lots of water :laughing:

As im still not 100% so no dancing for me today either, Ive done 10 minutes on the vibration machine and ridden 10km.

Wow what a crazy day:confused:.... so it was my first day I have not ridden in over 2 weeks... I did manage to get in 20 min vibro machine in.... thank goodness I did something

Breakfast was a boiled egg and lunch was a ham, salad and cheese sandwich dinner was prawns and jalapenos stuffed with cheese, snacks 2 sugar free biscuits a reese choc and 7 grapes cup of tea and my half milk and water pretend coffee o_O

Ok I will be back later today with my 3 week weight... woo hoo:laughing:

Monday day 21
I hope your journey is going well?

Today I am 101.1, :eek: Weigh in is next Sunday with the DR, so this past week (3rd) I have lost 1.3 kg ..... if i could loose another kg this week that would be amazing... I would love to start the 2nd month in double digits.... I will keep going and see what next week brings .

I had my D a little later today, 6 am and I took my boiled egg to work.. pity as I do like a little butter on the yoke, but that's okay snacks have been trail mix, one square of dark choc, 2x sugar free lollies, lunch was 8 cristini sticks with beetroot dip, dinner was chicken pasta with mushrooms I also had my milk drink this morning and ive brought another almond milk to try it has .5 g of sugar... so I may have my choc drink later in the mean time I will keep drinking water

I have done 20 minutes on the vibration machine and so far I have ridden 5km... still not 100% well...but my goal is to ride another 3km before bedtime I have already done my 1km of the higher number and i brought some 1kg weights I can only lift 2kg max (due to my back so thats perfect.. I will start incorporating them into my dancing this week :laughing:

Till tomorrow ... remember we will do this!!! :)

You will have to let your body some time to get better AND get back in its usual condition after the DAYS. I don’t think I should be telling you about the retained water, which is a very common thing for this period of month.

Dee, I am sorry to hear you didn’t manage to get on with your active exercising, but I am sure you will compensate it all in a couple of days. I just wanted to make a small note here on your Sunday menu… I am not sure… could you sit down, write down everything you ate and count the carbs…. I see you’re more into proteins. No vegetables, besides jalapenos. I am just discussing it here with you, ok? =)) That’s what I do. =))

Hope your scales will show a very good result. I always hope that I am wrong when I start thinking that something’s not right. =)) All the best! Looking forward to hearing from you!

PS. As for your surgery… your task right now is to develop a very comprehensive menu that does include the good things and eliminates the bad ones. If you won’t have the possibility to exercise at all… you will easily flush all your present efforts. Start thinking it over, Dee.

Hi April, Feeling better thank you :) I hope things are good with you?

I had a tummy bug.... So yesterday I was feeling heaps better... hopefully its left my body now... I am feeling a little lethargic but i dont have heaps of energy anyway (due to my sleep being disturbed due to my back)... my iron could also be low?.... But that was yesterday and today is a new day... sometimes I must push to get started on exercise but if I am unwell I will stop... that way I wont go back to being unhealthy and not exercise. I am home today so I will use my new weights and do some dancing... :laughing:

Yes..... So I hope that water will go and I will be at dbl digits, but if not that is okay the following week will do when I first start reading threads on D i read of so many loosing 4kg, 3kg etc in the first week and i thought oh my if i was that lucky i could loose 10kg in a month... some people dont mention what they eat and i am sure some don't eat or have very little to drop weight fast ... that is fine for them if they choose that, I want to make a change to keep my weight off and thought if I was to do that after I stop and D is no longer in my system my hunger will come back... and so will that weight... this way I concentrate on not snacking on heaps and the wrong things plus I believe exercise is helping my metabolism so I must incorporate that into my daily routine

That's okay o_Othat is why I am writing things so I can see a pattern of faults :cool:etc... Sunday I was very busy and spent most of the day setting up the receiver in the lounge room (my partner took it out of the tv unit as it was getting to hot he didn't write down what lead went where so we spent all morning fixing it ) then I did some gardening washing etc and then I called to talk about my internet I was on the ph for 5 hrs but in the end she found an issue, sometimes these things will happen so I thought my choice was good... not great or poor? Dinner I wanted something light and easy... I didn't want to prepare and cook (it was getting late) we already had eggs so that is why we had that ..I would have had another sandwich but we already ate 2 slices of bread with lettuce, tomato, beetroot, cucumber onion in it (is that not enough healthy eat with greens reds etc) normally we eat veggies most nights when its colder but the weather is warm to very hot so we eat more salads but tonight will be steak with veggies and a stuffed mushroom I do try to cook veggies once or twice a week in summer. Total carbs for Sunday was 93.5

Yes my scales are better today I first read them and thought oh i have put on weight (which is okay cant have a loss everyday and I only take my weighs in every 2 weeks as a guide)... I had to go back jump on and realise that it was a loss :laughing:

Yes I know about the surgery to be honest its snacking that worries me most and no exercise I think the main meals are good. I am hoping the recumbent bike will be okay but when I talk to my Dr I am going to ask so I can plan, I will be able to walk after a few days, last time it was key hole surgery i did do a quick google search and they say 10 days -2 weeks before you can... but I will see what he says when we talk... it is something that plays on my mind :( that is why I have asked for it to be done later giving me time to loose more weight and have a routine in place.

Okay I am off to dance now and use these new weights:cool:
