Hello there, Dee. Been thinking I forgot to answer your question and could barely sleep this night =)) Kidding… I did have my beauty sleep. Yet, I did think about your trick of having something unhealthy and compensating it with skipping lunch and exercising more. The answer is: if you do it rarely, it is an option to help you satisfy your cravings. Otherwise, if the desire is too strong and you keep trying to fight it, you might end up finding yourself in the middle of the night stuffing your mouth with roasted chicken and spoonsfull of ice-cream. Such cheat treats can help you tame your hunger for bad stuff, unless you abuse this method. Once in a while, once in two weeks, or so. When you get to your goal weight, you can allow yourself 1 cheat meal (not day) a week. Yet, it should be scheduled and well thought over.

Still, I think that if you want to maintain weight after you lose it and stop Duromine, you should seriously work on your eating habits. This will help you avoid constant dissatisfaction from depriving yourself of something.

… The veggies are ok, good, now I am less worried. Carbs, too. I have to explain here… Many people tend to underestimate the importance of vegetables when they diet. And, if you’re not taking any vitamins, you should carefully watch to have enough of good veggies and greens.

It’s good that you had pumpkin seeds. They are very useful!!! if I may give a comment on your menu… Just to be a strict healthy eating adviser. Some notes:

1. Eat pumpkin seeds more often, yet take care to fit in your daily caloric intake.

2. You could include arugula to your lunch. It would add some more beneficial value to it.

3. If I were you, I would switch lunch and dinner, or exclude mashed potatoes. (btw, make your mashed potatoes without butter or cream. If you need something to add flavor, you may add some low-fat milk when you mash it).

Now let’s get to your fantastic news! Happy to hear you went down to 100.3 kg. Well done! Have a nice day and don’t forget that boiled egg again!

Hi all- very new forums in general but started on Duromine 15mg yesterday and wanted to keep a journal on my progress. I thought this would be a good platform to do so- it might keep me honest ;-).
I would love to hear of others success stories on Duromine.

A little about me:
Age 40
Height 170cm
Pre marriage (10 years ago) I was weighing between 55-60kg - although not really toned.
Pre-kids (7 years ago) and following 3 years of marriage - I crept up to 65-70kg,
Post kids (3) : I reached my heaviest of 85kg (pregnant I hit 90kg+) carrying weight mostly in my tummy and face (ugh!)

Over the last 6-12 months - I have managed to get down to 76kg (loss of around 9kg) following a gallbladder infection, and making some very small changes to my diet. I smoke and drink a can of V energy every day. I dont drink coffee or alcohol, so the energy drink and ciggies are my only vices. I walk for 1/2 hour a day (when I can) but I am pretty sedentary in nature generally. I have been hovering at 76kg for a while now and just had enough. I lacked the motivation to get up and walk and started feeling depressed and fat. This summer has been hot, and being hot and fat has really been hard.

Yesterday I started duromine 15mg.

Stats:
Duromine Start weight: 76kg
AUS dress size 14
First mini goal: 70kg
Second mini goal 65kg
End goal 60kg
OMG Goal weight: 55kg - (gives me 5kg to play with for things like xmas and other celebrations...)

Day 1: Feeling good - motivated enough to get up and walk and drank loads of water. Found chewing gum worked to counteract the dry mouth. Terrible sleep last night.. but surprisingly feel quite refreshed today.

I will post weekly stats in regards to weight loss- and try and refrain from checking myself daily (although its an obsession).
Hi did you loose any weight????? Goodluck

Hi April :)

ha ha Im so glad it didn't spoil your beauty sleep...

Oh my you had to go and mention ice cream...have I mentioned its summer here LOL only kidding but i did think about ice cream the other day when it was really hot I usually have fruit ones or sorbet there are some very good low fat ones too But I am pleased to say I stayed away from it :)

I would love to say I could stop sweets but I know I couldn't or should I say I don't want too :oops:so I am pleased to hear if there are social occasions that I can manage them in a smart way.... not make it regular and compensate with some more exercise.I would love to change our main meals from lunch to dinner but not easy as the main meal would have to be heated in a microwave at work...and I would loose lots of nutrition reheating... we do eat as early as possible during the week...I have used low fat evaporative milk before in mash... would you believe I took 2 items out of the freezer for dinner last night and tonight, one being kievs and the other cordon bleu well what I thought was chicken kiev cooking last night turned out to be cordon bleu... so my craving for mash with my kiev was a huge disappointment:mad:... so tonight It will be a steamed potato well half a one for me with the kiev... it s not something we normally have... maybe once every 6 months and having mash usually comes hand in hand with the kiev... so i will have to mash my potato with my fork :( next time I do have mash I will do it on the weekend... usually the weekend is for easy food.. as in scrambled eggs , sandwich or crackers etc I try to have 1 day free of cooking meals.. as in vegies/ chicken/ meat etc

I do take a vitamin tablet, but thats still not the same as what comes from a veggie especially home grown it contains so many minerals and vitamins especially when you can pick it from the garden and eat withing 20 minutes.... today I went out and had 2 strawberries the flavor is amazing... I have lots of fruit trees in pots and lots of veggie garden beds... so I vary what is grown ,depending on weather... and I can also say a home grown potato also has flavor.. who would have thought

Ive been eating trail mix which has the sunflower seeds, pepitas and other nuts and seeds... yes I am careful like fruit juices at one stage i thought i was doing good having a big glass of juice till I added the calories  I no longer do it I will add some arugula which we call rocket i did have some growing last year but didn't plant it this year:oops:

Thanks for your tips.... I really appreciate it.... and believe you me I wont be forgetting my egg for some time  I did enjoy it this morningo_O

Oh.....I am pleased to say my scales have gone down further from yesterday....

Take care Dee:)

Hi Everyone,

Well.... I jumped on the scales and held my breath as i spotted double digits then it went up then back down and i just couldn't look.... no its not dble digits but it made me realise its not far away and I am in reach of it..... it is possible... I will do this.....I cant see a difference in my body and maybe if my work pants fell down and I needed to get my smaller pair out I might be like wow! so for now Im excited to see the scales move... Monday is the day... oh my weight you may be asking it was 100.1 for some reason I expect it to be up tomorrow so I might skip a day LOL knowing me I will still weigh myself

Breakfast was my boiled egg from yesterday:eek: with a slice of bread, half almond and water coffee... (oh vitasoy almond milk only has .3 sugar and its on special this week so I have stocked up lol) ...lunch was 1 slice bread with ham, dinner was a kiev with half a potato and veggies... snacks during the day - 2 boiled lollies, so far half a sugar free protein bar ( i may have the rest a bit later and then again I may not) and 2 cristini sticks

Exercise Ive done 20 minutes on the vibration machine 40 mins dance with only 5 with weights I was a little sore :( so I didn't want to make it worse) so far ive ridden 4km will do at least 1 before bed

Wishing everyone well on your journey :)
Dee

Hi Dee!. I apologize, apologize, apologize for mentioning the I-C (won’t mention this word again). However, I really though I would suggest a good recipe, if you don’t have one. Especially that you have some fresh fruit and berries in your own garden (real Paradise there, huh?). It’s simple, you place in your juicer veggies, greens and fruit and make a healthy juice. Then you cut berries and some low-sugar fruits in pretty slices. Place them in small I-C molds and pour this extra useful juice over them. Into the freezer and enjoy! =) Just an idea for a healthy, delicious and very pretty freezing snack.

Ok, it’s great you realize what you will be able to avoid and which types of food are there to stay with you forever. Glad you are learning to cut down the amounts of these in the future. That’s a very important step for maintaining your future slender body in a great shape.

As for your scales. A whispering YEEEEEEESSSS, so as not to let them know you are waiting for the double digits. ;)) Next time you get on them, look really indifferent, like you don’t care. I am sure the 99 is very close.

If you feel sore after exercising, means you worked your a.. out last time, and it’s great! Someone’s working haaaaard. =)

Hey there! You promised weekly reports and I am looking forward to reading one very soon!!! =)) I hope you keep to your positive attitude and are happy with your progress.

Hey April...

Too funny I like the secret code for it ha ha

Now that I/C ;) does sound nice I might try it if i can get to the berries before the bird, dog or my partner do LOL ive been hiding them under the leaves till they are ready for me to pick:cool:

Learning to cut down will be my main focus when stop... I see my Dr Sunday for another weigh in and a new prescription.. she mentioned going up to 40 but I was thinking it might be good to stick to 30 and use my will power and then if I am able to do a 3rd month I might try the 40... and IF i start to struggle really bad next month i might stop for 3 days and restart I have read that can kick start the D again if needed? I know everyone is different and my dr said it takes 2 weeks to be out of your body.... so its a hit and miss I guess... and I will only know when I try

Hmm well I was punching the air hard and the first time with the 1kg weights I always perspire when I dance and give the whole body a good shake up:eek:... Well the tops of my legs were sore today... I did push myself and rode very fast on the higher number last night so maybe that did it...but Ive still exercised today as it wasn't too bad..... arms were not so sore so i could use the weights too YAY!

Umm talking about cutting things down ;) and those double digits

Since using IVF everything goes on hold, I have postponed lots of cheap holidays when my partner has found them.... so when my partner located a 2 night cruise I could not say no to him (especially as it was $77 for 2 nights) plus this window wont be open for long(not doing IVF)... the worse thing about IVF is the what if.. oh I cant because what if I am, or need a blood test or scan etc etc so this will be out first mini holiday in some time...

BUT I have a plan;) I know I will be naughty, maybe I wont be but worse case scenario o_OI will do my best to ensure I am good.... so after much thought this is my plan I have come up with

Day 1/ we leave Monday so that means I must do all my exercise in the morning before we go it may be less than normal but I will do my best...
Day 2/ I know they have a gym so I will locate it and pray they have a recumbent bike... if not i will have to hide in the robe area and dance like I can hear music even if its 10 minutes if the boats moving it wont happen as I do get travel sickness even with tablets...
Day 3/ we come home so I must exercise when we get home even if its 15 of dance and 5 km ride and the vibration machine

Food on all 3 days to eat in moderation if i want to try different foods then I will have a very small portion or a bite

I believe I will be in the double digits by Monday so the last thing I want to do is undo everything... then again its been so long since I could unwind not worry about carbs, gluten, sugar or alcohol I will have to play it by ear and lets see if I can pass this test

Plus I have to come back and confess  not to mention I don't want to loose my double digits once I have them:laughing:

Wishing you a great day/night :)

Dee

Hi Dee! I started yesterday :) Feel a little different this time compared to the previous time I was taking D.. not much energy, a little hungry and very tired. What I probably love the most from D is it really gets me motivated, I know this isnt a weight loss solution, but it really gets my motivation up!! I havent been on the forum in a bit, but glad to see how well youre doing!

Hi Everyone,

I ended up riding 3km last night instead of 2 o_O

Well while i wasn't looking someone has stolen my scales and replaced them with an inferior one that doesn't move!! not that I am complaining because it could go up... so are you ready for the surprise?

My weight is 100kg  so hopefully I have my scales back by Monday and can see those double digits :)

Today as it was hot I hit the ground running to get some things done before it was too warm and skipped breakfast i know naughty me....I had a pretend coffee with half almond and water... but for lunch I had an egg and bacon hi fiber sandwich, and dinner was ham and salad including rocket :laughing:and carrot sandwich again hi fiber... I made a low fat ricotta honey cheesecake...worked out to 60 cal per piece and I had 2 of them.... next time instead of honey I will try maple syrup (sugar free one... its very nice) and that will drop the calories further...oh and I had 4 small squares of sugar free chocolate :p

Exercise wise Ive ridden 4km I did 50 min dance with 20 minutes including weights,20 minutes on the vibration machine

Im off to the drs tomorrow and still a bit confused if going to 40 will keep me awake or give that jittery feeling not sure if 10mg extra can make a huge difference

Only 2 more days and Ive been on duromine for 4 weeks... its sort of gone quick what ever my weight is I am very happy with the loss so far

I hope everyone is doing well;)

Hi Everyone

Well my scales are back... I put on 500g by my drs scales I have lost 2.5 kg total of 5 kg... my official weigh in is tomorrow as that will be 4 weeks since Ive started so it looks like those double digits will have to wait to next week... I am very happy with a 5kg loss for the month

Ive measured and I haven't lost that much? Ive lost 10cm from my waist 3 from my hips 1 from my legs and none from my arms???? I was hoping to see a big difference after 4 weeks but looks like I have to wait for 8....anyway I am not going to worry about I will keep going and one day those measurements will change heaps

I didn't go up to 40mg as my Dr is happy with the way I am loosing weight, so maybe next month or the one after that is if I get to stay on it that long.. all dependent of the operation etc

Breakfast was cereal and lunch was half a salami sandwich with a cup of tea I snacked on a peach and half a protein bar, for dinner we had a tomato sauce mixture with meat with mixed veggies and one of those mini cheesecakes that I made with a little strawberry puree that I made:cool:

exercise wise Ive done 30 mins vibration machine 40 dance with 20 of that using weights and I have ridden 6km its taking me longer to build up a perspiration and I am still going just as hard... not sure if that's the duromine wearing off... my mouth is only really dry after exercise

Tomorrow we off on a 2 night cruise (I cant wait) so I wont be back to post till Wednesday/Thursday or tomorow if I am lucky to get the time....

I hope you are doing well:)

Hey guys!!
So excited to be at the start of my Duromine journey. My name is Charlie, 35 y.o male. I got my Duromine yesterday, it came from duromines.com, and I have 90 days supply @ 30mg per day.
I have around 40lbs to lose. Things got a little crazy over the past couple years with stress and I turned to comfort eating to feel better emotionally, followed by starting to overeat/binge eat at times, and a good old dose of night eating syndrome came next! Cut to a massive weight gain and numbers on the scale I'd never seen before, none of my clothes fitting and a general sense of disgust and self-loathing at my new body.

Today is day 1. I took my pill at 5:00am (before work) with water. By 10:00am I was feeling it's full energy effects, I was chatty and happy at work. No hunger at all, it is gone 4:30pm now and I haven't eaten anything or feel like it. I'm not sure when I will weigh myself... I guess a week will be fair, so next Wednesday morning (15th) I'll have completed 7 days and will weigh in :)

PS:Forgive my use of "lbs" as I notice a lot of you guys use kgs, which I really don't know about!
