That's super awesome - congrats on your 7.1kg loss!!

Our SW are similar, but I'm not losing weight as I hoped. Please share what you eat for breakfast/lunch/supper, as that's the only place I can think of I'm doing wrong..do I eat too much or not enough for my body. Please help?
Thanks

Hi Ters :)
I'm more than happy to share with you what I eat xx

I try and stick to around 1200 cals per day but if it's time to go to bed and Ive only had 1100 cals I wont eat just to make the target and if its 8:30pm and I've already consumed 1200 cal but im hungry I will eat an apple. I will listen to my body.

I record EVERYTHING I consume!!! I use an app that came on my phone. I don't try and guess how many calories are in things, I will look at the nutritional lable on the packet or look the food item up on the app or google search.

Whilst I've been on duromine I have had NO soft drink, NO takeaway, NO Junk Food, NO alcohol (except one night I went to a festival and had wine but I had planned for that and didn't take my duromine that day)

BREAKFAST
about 45g of AllBran Original with a small pottle of yogurt. (Ive found at coles they sell Yoplait Formè No Fat fruit yogurts that only have about 75cals.)
Somemorning if I struggle to eat I'll skip the All Bran and add a small pottle of fruit to the yogurt because I find it easier/softer to eat ( from Aldis Sweet Valley diced peaches in juice 125g for only 54cals)

LUNCH
I have a turkey sandwich
(2 pieces of multigrain sandwich bread - I get this from Aldis as it only has 140cals for the 2 slices of bread) 40 grams of slices turkey (also from Aldis and it's 42 calories for the 40g) plus a handful of iceberg lettuce. I have NO butter and NO dressing. Sometimes if I want to jazz it up a bit I'll add a teaspoon of basil pesto. Yummy.

DINNER
I'll have a low calorie frozen meal. I get these from either Coles or Aldis. They are between 300-400cals. I've tried the whole cook for my family thing and give myself smaller portions or omit the bad stuff but I found it too differcult for me to calorie count what I was eating or I would find the food boring or bland. These frozen meals have heaps of flavour and some of their pastas have cheese (which I don't otherwise eat) so I feel like I'm getting yummy flavoursome balanced food without the stress of working out calories.

I have 2-3 skinny lattes a day (1 with breakfast, 1 as either morning or afternoon tea, and 1 after dinner) I want to cut this down but for now it's ok.

Snacks will either be a small apple or medium sized carrot, and if I feel particularly hungry I'll have a muslie bar (Nice & Natural Cranberry & Blueberry 109cals)

I've prepared myself dinner a couple of times and I've had brown rice with tuna or baby soy beans and green veges with some sweetchilli sauce. But I've found more success with the scales the next morning when I stick to the frozen meals.

As far as exercise goes, I don't go to the gym or anything like that, I just try to go for a walk most days. Not massive long walks, just incidental walking. Like instead of driving to the post office I'll walk instead, just little 20-30 minute walks.

One thing that I've done differently whilst taking duromine that I haven't done on past diets is that I'm taking FULL accountability. I'm not having cheat days or trying to kid myself that if I eat something bad then it's ok cause I've been good the rest of the week. I have to remind myself that it's only me who I have to blame if I eat crap. I still have my moments of that 'bordom eating' feeling, it's just now I wont put anything in my mouth!!!

Duromine works different for everyone I guess but at the end of the day it's just an appetite supressant. Only you can choose what you eat and drink!! Yes my sweet tooth has 'kinda' reduced (very very slightly) but I don't believe that's the duromine. I believe that's because it was my decision to stop drinking all the sweet softdrinks that would have just made me crave more!!!

I weight myself everymorning (I know some people say that's a bad idea) but I like it. I get excited when I've lost 100gms. The scales do fluctuate quite a bit but I like to be able to see if there's a correlation between what I eat one day and what I weigh the next. It's not an exact science but it's how I've determined that the frozen meals work better for me than my own prepared ones.

I hope some of what I've said helps you and please let me know if you have any other questions :)

Good luck on your journey and I look forward to hearing more about your experiences.

Xx

Thank you for taking the time to sent a message back again...

I also weigh myself every morning, I know its not good and would really like to weigh myself only once a week. But easier said than done actually..

I normally have all bran flakes with low fat milk or a bran muffin for breakfast, and lunch would be watermelon/banana with nuts. Supper would be what I make for the family but just i'll have smaller portion.

Drink about 2-3ltrs of water a day, with 2 coffees {drinking sugar with mine, still battling to put in the canderel/sugar replacement}. also been staying away from soft drinks, chocolates and crisps. Also been doing Crossfit 4 times a week {consists of cardio and weight lifting}

I will see what we have available in our shops, maybe need to get a few frozen meals and see if that would help {I'm staying in South Africa}.

Once again, thank you very much for all your help. And good luck with your journey.x

Hi Ters, my pleasure :)
My biggest advice is to COUNT your calories!!! At least until you become familar with whats in what your eating. Store bought Bran muffins can be loaded with calories and sugar and fat and butter!!!! I would say that watermelon and nuts isnt a substantial meal for lunch. And although afew nuts (eg almonds) arent bad for you, too many of them is just ALOT of fat and calories. Listen to me speaking as though im a qualified nutritionist lol sorry.
If you do try the frozen meals, really make sure of the calories they contain. Mine are 300-400 cals each but I've occastionally accidently picked up one I thought looked nice only to find out its up to 3x the amount of calories!!!
Let me know how it goes :)
Xx
