Hi April Thank you... I didn't think of it that way wow 10% pretty impressive if i do say so

Oh new goals.... well looks like I will be busy setting some new ones;)

I just notice a well being in myself.. as for my back I cant say that I have.... but I have noticed other things that I did struggle with are not so bad.... as in sometimes sitting on a chair or getting off it etc

How funny you say that I am about to see a specialist and that is something I was going to ask, I wouldn't even mind seeing a exercise physiologist again I know they say I need to work on my core which helps strengthen the back... I have found some on youtube so until I see her I will keep going the way I have :)

I noticed my tummy was bloated yesterday at first I thought what have I eaten? and then I realised its nearly that time of the month again :( thank goodness my hunger is not as bad as last time... touch wood!

Dee

Looks like we’re on the same wave… =) Great idea to visit the exercise physiologist! High five! Just don’t put it out for too long. It is very important.

Hmm… that’s another change I see in your eating behavior, which pleases me quite much. I mean… you would usually know it’s that time of the month by your desire to eat everything you saw (if I am not mistaken), and now there’s no sign of this (touch wood thousand times, hope I don’t jinx it). Be strong, dear! Be strong… =)))

Have a great day and make that Pilates machine work! =)

Hi Everyone

Wishing everyone a great weekend!!

Hi April,

I will probably see the specialist first... need to make a booking on Monday...

Oh I know..... like you said ... touch wood a thousand times:).... I nearly had a small choc before but I said no (choc peanut m&m).... if I really want one I will have it tomorrow before 2 pm that's my treat for staying strong tonight ;) I am doing my best to eat prior to 5 pm and have nothing after that... touch wood again!

Oh I did give the machine a good work out and my arms and the top of my legs can attest to it ;)

Wishing you a great day or night

Oh I watched a clip on mandella? one of the dancers that always makes me smile...you may already know? she talks about herself and her life in it... I was fascinated to learn she also struggled with being overweight at one stage...it was very interesting (she and her husband are my favorite on the zumba besides making me smile they move so well and now I know why... she was a professional dancer at one stage

Hi Everyone!

I'm new here...today Day 1 on Duromine! ...I'm just not sure what diet to follow, would appreciate advice on that...do u guys calorie count?

My stats :

Age : 27
Height : 168 cm
CW : 114
GW : 75
Hip :140 cm
Bust : 110 cm

I plan on weighing myself weekly at home and check in on here.

Day 1 hasn't been too bad just a loooooot of thirst! ( on my fourth liter of water)

For breakfast I had a high protein shake made from banana/dates/almond milk/ hemp seed protein, lunch was a green salad with lean chicken, snack was cashew/almond nut mix with a yoghurt. I plan on having a fruit and protein powder smoothie for supper.

Please advice if I'm over eating or should steer clear from any foods that are not obvious, really desperate to shift this weight! :-(

Will start walking as of tomorrow.

Wish me luck ! :)

Been slacking a bit on my fitness/weight loss journey updates. I have been eating 3 meals a day with small snacks in between. I must admit that I did slack on my exercising two days this week but I feel that was due to me being used to the 15mg dosage. I have upped my dosage to the 30mg I was prescribed, which helped my energy levels and I was back in the gym yesterday. My mom sent me a package at Christmas full of all my fav junk food I've been missing since I came to AUS and it only just arrived on Wed. I must admit I did indulge in a bit of naughtiness but I am actually pretty proud of my will power to not dive head on into it. I let hubby eat 85% of the junk.
Alas, even with my two day misstep in my journey I have still made progress!

SW: 83.5kg
CW: 79kg
GW: 62kg
Loss so far : 4.5kg

I honestly thought I would see an increase in my weight as punishment for being slack but seeing my weight under 80kgs almost made me cry (happiness) and just strengthened my determination to DO THIS!

Sounds like your starting off great.
Focus on changing habits for life, not just a few weeks. If you must eat bad, (eg events or hectic days) keep your portions smaller than usual. Life Happens, so don't try to be TOO perfect, because it's hard to sustain.
Good luck on your journey!

I had a tea last night before bed

Well have I said that I love surprises... Today's weight 94.7..... it went down not up!

Breakfast was a poached egg on toast, lunch was a chinese sausage in bread, and dinner was pasta with veggies and a little hot salami, been extra thirsty today? not sure why ... so I have had a couple of sugar free mineral waters, plus lemon in water and also lots of water... I feel like im swooshing on the inside ha ha ive snacked on an apple 6 mini licorice pieces, a pretend coffee with full almond milk and half a cup of tea

I feel my blood pressure has been low today, plus ive felt extra tired it was so hard to do some exercises and even my partner said you have worked hard outside all day thats your work out, and in a way it is but still I had to do something I dont want to find excuses for not doing an exercise besides something is better than nothing.....soooo exercise I rode 2 km on the higher number ,20 fast 10 slow and 2 of those towards the end was 10 fast and 10 slow, 10 on the vibration machine and 5 different exercises on the pilates x 15 Ive pulled something in my right arm I got a bit excited the other day so I avoided that move ;)

I hope everyone is doing well.... here is to another fabulous weight loss week:laughing:

Dee :)

Day 2 :

So far so good, no side effects other than the thirst just started my 4th litre of water! AND just got back from gym....yaaaay me!!! :). Did 45 min cardiovascular with ease....must be the energy/increased heart rate from the D.

Food :

Breakfast was a papaya/mixed berry/almond milk/maca root powder smoothie. I have decided I'm going to have a high protein smoothie for breakfast for the next four weeks then change up my routine on month 2

Snack : 15 cashews

Lunch : mixed raw sweet peppers with grilled chicken...I'm not weighing anything just eye balling. If it backfires I will start weighing my portions. I have decided to rather weigh than calorie count, that's too tedious and will have me too obsessive over numbers.

Snack : Yoghurt, small low tub. I'm finishing off the flavoured low fat ones I have in the fridge then will get fat free plain yoghurt instead as of next week. Greek would be too expensive for me.

Supper : I'm undecided what I will have...I don't know if I want to make supper routine a smoothie or salad with lean protein....will see.

Yes girl! I just hope your beloved hubby won't mind to stick to your diet plan next week to rest of the bunch of yummies he ate for you:laughing: what a sacrifice though)) As a result of your willpower - no weight gain. This is also kind of achievement, don't you think?;)

I think your diet is great so far. It actually makes a good sense to weigh the food instead of calorie counting. I used to do that too, because I figured that my eyes just couldn't measure anything correctly :) so I ended up with too much pasta or cereal for a portion:laughing: You just need to stick to a small amount and mix all the nutrients in good combination. Which I like, especially your chicken/pepper lunch (yumm!).

I usually take a small plate and pour uncooked product there first and then weigh it to measure my portion size, and then record or memorize the numbers on the scales so I don't need to weigh it every time. Speaking of plates, I read somewhere that the color of your plate can actually affect your appetite as well. Namely blue color was called the most "appetite reducing" one, so it was recommended for people struggling with their body weight to use small blue plate for meals every day. I personally don't know whether it is true or not. Just wanted to share it with you.

Hi everyone. Today is day one

Age 35
Height 5'8
Weight 133.1kgs

I have been sitting on my prescription for the last 3 weeks as I was really hesitant but decided to just bite the bullet and start. I'm going to be weighing weekly

Breakfast porridge skim milk and banana
No snack wasn't really hungry so I had a green tea
Lunch chicken broccoli half a kumara (sweet potatoes)
Snack pear and another green tea
Dinner chicken stir fry

Felt thirsty most of the day so I went thru 3 litres of water. Dull headache but I think that was from going to bed late and was a little queasy. All up good first day.

Gym tomorrow morning Body hurts already thinking of it

Question if I'm not hungry at snack time, should I still eat something?

All advice appreciated

Bring on day two

Hi Everyone,

Todays weight was the same as yesterday 94.7:laughing: Ive nearly lost 11kg

New Goals for the next 4-6 weeks
To loose another 5kg min anything above a bonus
To increase my Pilates by raising it up off the floor
To learn one zumba move every week that I am currently struggling with
Increase my bike riding to 3-4km from the current 2km
Stop snacking after 5-6 pm

Today's exercise - 50 min Zumba, 5 different exercise x 20 reps on the pilates machine (arm is still sore so still skipping that exercise), 18 min on the vibration machine:)

Todays breakfast was some yogurt, an apple, mid morning was an egg, lunch was 4 cristini sticks slice of cheese 3 chilli mussels, diner was chicken, with carrots, small potato, spinach, cauliflower and tomatoes with olives, eggplant - these 3 were in a sauce and went on top of the chicken.
I had a pretend coffee with full almond milk plus my water I took my fruit cake out to have a slice... but it was after 6 by the time I realised I hadn't cut it, so I will go without tonight

Till tomorrow

Hello, hello, dear Dee!!! Wow, girl! Goals are great and you’re doing fantastic! And it’s so cool YOU DIDN’T MANAGE TO CUT THE FRUIT CAKE! Ha-ha!!! Yey! Guess, it will be the first thing you will have in the morning, which is definitely better than having it in the evening. You are super strong!!!! Manage to persist the temptation.

And you scales show you how cool you are =)) great results! Bravo!

So sorry for your arm, hope it gets better soon and you will be able to enjoy the full range of movements without any discomfort. Your dinner… made me hungry! =) Delicious healthy choices, well done!

Keep it up and have a wonderful day! =0)

Hello Mzjaxon! Happy to see you have a thread and congrats on getting into the first day of your Duromine journey! I just love your eating choices! All the good things at the right time! And gym! =)) don’t work too hard and let your body “not die” after the first workout, otherwise you might skip the next one. Better take it slow and work consistently, instead of working hard and not working at all afterwards, so best of luck on that!

Am… snacking.. it always depends on each person’s individual features. However, small-snacking between the main meals is a recommendation that can help boost your metabolism. However, if you don’t feel like eating anything serious at all… a cup of green tea is great, and I would suggest you to cut the evening-snack pear in two, and have a half for the morning snack, and a half for the evening one. The idea is that you don’t let your body starve for too long to avoid the starvation effect. Still, you have a very nutritious breakfast, and I am not surprised you didn’t want to eat before lunch. I guess, you should do it, as you feel.

Water intake is great, keep in up! And I wish you from the bottom of my heart to keep going just the same great pace and to see motivating results on your scales! =)

Hey! Congrats with the thread and well done with the weight loss plan! Keep it up and I am sure the results will motivate you for more achievements!

It always depends on your preferences, whether you decide to calorie count, or to weigh your meals. As long as you feel you are doing it right and see the results, means your choice works. =)

Just one small suggestion… you don’t need to choose the fat-free yoghurt. Your menu is not so rich in fats, so if you can get plain yogurt, simple, it will be great! It won’t be 10% of fat in it, that’s for sure, so don’t go crazy with this. =)

As for supper choices… both sound good. If your smoothie contains some veggies, protein and just a bit of carbs… ok. I usually have smoothies when I am a bit out of time to cook the salad and the meat/fish. So dropping everything into the blender and having your meal in a couple of minutes is very useful on hectic evenings.

Have a great day!

Hi AllyM, so happy you already had the first tears of happiness when getting on the scales! =) Great results and applause for you to keep away from binging on the entire box of goodies!

Do you feel ok with the 30 mg dose? Any significant changes, compared to 15 mg, aside from increased energy? Hope, you will go well without any side effects and wish you a great day! No more missing exercises or tempting yummies around you. You’re motivated, you’re focused and you’re strong to get to your goal!

Hi April,

The only side effects I'm feeling by increasing the dose is that my mouth feels dry. I think I did the right thing by gradually increasing up to the full dose. Thank you for the encouragement. You're right I am determined. Did 1.5hr hot yoga tonight
