Haha sounds good! I was in FNQ too, near cairns. I'm moving back there at the end of the year and can't wait. Where were you living up there?

I lived in Cairns & Townsville. :) loved them both. Loved being able just to drive to Port D or Airlie Beach for a weekend.
Weighed myself again this morning 69.9!! Out of the 70s...just!! Can't complain about that.
I think your body does get used to the duromine though like I said I'm sleeping right through the night now & starting to get hungry around 6-7 which is fine as I'm still not over eating.
How are you feeling? Have you recovered from being ill?
Have a great week, happy Monday ;-)

Hello Sunshines! Congratulations on that great weight loss! Way to go, yaaay!

Feeling proud for resisting the choc top? You should! Breaking the usual habits is the hardest thing! So way to go! A wonderful day to you!

Hi Lelz! Happy to hear form you again! And congratulations on your first weight loss! Keep it up! Did you try to add physical activity to your weight loss program? Hope you will get used to small portions three main meals and 1-2 snacks, which altogether will reach the value of 1200 cal. Are you planning to go on with 5:2?

Oh that's awesome, I bet you're happy about that. I'm looking forward to getting out of the 80's, then the 70's! Yeah my body is used to it now too, I sleep pretty good and have even had a few cat naps during the day when I'm exhausted. I still get the burst of energy in the morning but nothing like the first 2 weeks. I'm all better now thanks, although both my kids have had gastro over the last 3 days so I'm hoping that I don't get that  have you taken measurements of your body? I haven't checked mine for a couple week so I'm going to do them tomorrow. I hope you had a good day :)

Hey Sunshines, how is everything going? I hope all is well x

Hi everyone, started today as I've recently been told that I have impaired glucose intolerance and need to get my sugars and weight down as I'm dangerously close to being diabetic. I previously got from 96kgs to 79kgs when I moved to Oz (changeof lifestyle and took 12 months). Was goinggreat guns until feb when I quit smoking after 27 years and the weight and blood sugars have soared. Found out when I went to have my thyroid checked out. I had a bit of ameltdown in the docs as I am so down on myself that the doc prescribed these to give my body a kick start again... so I find myself at day 1, took it at 7am, went to work and felt like I could tackle anything by 10am haha! Worked til 8pm tonight and snacked on carrot sticks, fruit and yoghurt and then had a small tuna steak for dinner. Dry mouth, a little palpitation earlier but I get that anywaysometimes... yawning now so hopefully won't have any issues with the sleeping (I'm notgreat normally do not holding out much luck)

Height 171cm
SW 89kgs
GW 70 kgs

Going to try not to weigh myself for a week as I have a bad habit of weighing every day normally! How do people maximise the benefits of being on these tablets?

Hoping it works!

Hello Karen. Welcome to the forum and to this weight loss journey! I hope it turns well for you. Well done on losing 17 kilograms! Wow! And you did manage to do it in a healthy pace.

The best thing you can do is to stop feeling down and focus on your current mission. Saving yourself from diabetes and getting back to healthier you.

Did you eat anything besides the snacks and tuna steak? Sounds very little to me.

How people maximize…

They eat 3 healthy meals and 1-2 healthy snacks to get at least 1200 calories, or more on days when they exercise.

They exercise regularly, even if short HIIT workouts or long walks.

They drink more water than they used to drink before getting on Duromine.

They believe in themselves and don’t stop in the pursue of their goals.

They write on the forum and get advice and support, which is one of the essential things for weight loss.

They find a good motivation and do their best to not lose it.

That is probably it. =) All the best!

Hello Sunshines! Just like Melonhelen, I hope that you are doing well. Wish you could tell us something about your progress and sensations. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi April,

Thanks for your reply.

In total I had two slices of ancient grains and quinoa bread for breakfast. 3 small snack packs if carrots that I grazed during the day. 2 x chobani pouch natural yoghurts, and the tuna steak and veg for my dinner. Wasn't really properly prepared today so getting fully organised with my meal planning this weekend. I've also drank loads of water but feel a bit bloated at the minute. I forgot to mention I'm also on iron tablets for low iron at the minute too.

Well I fell asleep at 11 pm and woke up at 12.30 am but that's not unusual for me.. hopefully I'll fall back to sleep soon..

So the sleep think didn't work Fell back asleep at 6 am and awake again at 8.30 am. Today's going to be interesting!!

Hi! Sorry sorry sorry!!! I had to go away for work & stopped taking the pills for 7 days was worried about a random drug test but it looked as though it wasn't going to happen so started again. I weighed myself this morning and am 67kg 2kg off my first goal so I'm pretty happy with that!!
Once again I'm sorry for the delay in response I hope you're both doing well & thank you for checking in!
Wish I'd done my measurements now... boobs definitely smaller...thighs I think too am getting back into older jeans & tops yay

Hey Sunshines! It’s ok! I am glad you didn’t fall of the wagon for good and congratulations on being so close to your first goal! Time to rock it!!!

Do the measurements now. At least, you will be able to track your volumes reducing from now on. A great day to you!

Hi Karen! I am so sorry you had to suffer from lack of sleep again… How was your weekend? Did you continue taking Duromine or decided to give yourself some rest and skip Duromine during the weekend to sleep a bit more? Hope all is well and wish you a great week!

Hello,
Really appreciate & feeling v happy to go through the experience been shared & wonderful guidance given.
Cheers

My name is Rana
Age: 31 years
Height: 162 cms (5 feet 4 inches tall)
Medical conditions: Polycystic ovary syndrome, mild asthamatic.

Starting weight: 79.6kgs
Goal weight: 52kgs

I am married for 7years now, was petite 4 years back and weighed 48kgs then.

For the treatment of PCOD i was on hormonal therapy for one n half year and then my weight jumped from 48 to 82kgs.
I am getting menses regularly now...
But still i am unable to conceive & that is why my GP suggested duramine to me as weight loss would probably fix my menstural cycles right & will mostly help me to conceive naturally.

I started DURAMINE 30mg yesterday
(19-07-2017)
Please go through my experience & guide me thanks!!!!

FIRST DAY'S experience...
Initial weight: 79.6kgs
Took 30mg capsule at 6am.
Unlike others i feel alot hungry after taking duramineBut i am keeping the calorie count.

BREAKFAST: I had...
3 boiled eggs (220 calories)
1 chicken nugget cooked in 1 teaspoon olive oil 93 calories
1 cappacino with 121ml skim milk with 1 teaspoon sugar: (30+190+15 calories)

LUNCH: 100grams lamb (250 calories)

SNACKS: 4 mandarins( 200 calories)

DINNER: lettuce (16 calories)
Greek yoghurt (217 calories)

WATER CONSUMPTION: 1&1/2litres.

Total : around 1400 calories consumed.

Happy news: lost 1.6kgs on day 1

Coudnt exercise at all,as kept lying in bed all the day, literally had no energy to step out of bed.
Sufferred from a moderately bad headache, blurred vision, dry mouth & hardly slept for 4hrs at night.

I am being very optimistic to face the sideeffects & hope they get better as days pass by.

I want your valuable advice dear. Thanks

After taking the medicine i noticed i am always hungry.
How much water should i drink to avoid getting headaches?
Any tips for blurred vision, can this side effect be gone soon as my body gets used to this medicine?

Thanks in advance.
Will post day2 reviews tommorrow,
Excited & determined

Hello Rana! Thank you for your optimistic approach, and I hope you will maintain it through these three months to come. It is so important to be motivated and positive no matter what. I am sorry you are going through some hard times with the side effects. Hopefully, they will subside soon. They usually do by around day 5. Fingers crossed that you forget about them tomorrow! =)

Feeling extremely hungry on Duromine from the start might be the manifestation of ones of the so called paradoxical reactions to Duromine. They are possible and no one knows what to do. I would suggest you to up your daily hydration and see if it helps reduce your hunger and might help with the headaches.

As for the menu… if you don’t mind me adding my two cents…

The caloric value… ok… would be perfect if complemented with exercising. Oh well I am sure you will get to this phase when you feel better. And now… to your menu…

I would switch some meals to other meals with the same caloric value, yet providing valuable substances, vitamins and fiber.

Let’s see. you had 1 nugget fried in oil. For the same 93 calories, you could have a nice slice of avocado and get useful fats and amino acids, instead of empty calories and a fried “thing”.

Cappuccino… 235 calories… usefulness? Zero, I think… what about fruit+veg smoothie? Fiber, vitamins – a cup of useful delight that will certainly fill you up in a healthier way than the cappuccino. If a fancy coffee is a must for you, you can make it healthier, if you turn it into a smoothie, as well. Internet is literally blowing out with recipes of these. =))

Got a couple of other things to add, but don’t want to scare you right away with my long posts. =) Congrats on the first weight loss!!

April, thanks a million for replying to my post. Your words of encouragement are already making me feel alot better dear.

I hope i get acclamatizled to medicine soon & start to work out.

Before taking duromine i had a very little appetite & used to starve alot.
may be the opposite is happening now.

And thanks dear, for educating me about the paradoxical reaction to D.Its interesting.

Yes dear i agree i should increase the water intake. Thanks

April yeah its absolutely right that nugget & the fancy coffee added up to empty calories dear...i Should quickly start replacing it with healthy options as u have adviced, a slice of avo & other fruits & veggies.

Thanks for all the guidance.
I am Very grateful to get the experts advice here.
Please feel free to critique me hard.

Thanks for all the support.
Will post the feedback of day2 soon....
