Week 5 updates
SW...100.8
CW.... 93.5
Total loss... 7.3 kilos
Week 5 loss... 1.5 kilos
So happy this week for loss. Last week I lost 500grams so I'm glad I stuck it out and kept up my discipline...lol
A loss is a loss I keep saying and as the weeks go by I know it all adds up for the bigger picture. I am finding Im doing fine taking a tablet every second day....at least I can draw these babies out....lol
Is anyone finding it ok taking a tablet every 2nd day also? Curious to know....thanks everyone X

Hi Rachel! Congratulations! The result is indeed great! I am sure your clothes fit looser now and you have more energy. Besides, seeing the weight decreasing is such a HUGE motivation to keep moving even harder! Very happy for you!
As for taking the pills every other day - it is not uncommon, many users choose this dosing regimen. It is good that you listen to your body and know how to do things better for yourself. Besides, this gives you an opportunity to extend Duromine course. Though, of course, you need to keep in mind that at a certain point, when you come close to the end of the last pack, you will need to switch to taking it every 3 day, then every 4 day - that's to slowly wean off and avoid possible withdrawals.

Hi Sharyn,

How are you going now?

I just started the 15mg today, so I'm interested to hear how your month has been!

I am so glad you have a GP that is really supportive @SGH *hugs*

It's the time of the year for colds to start creeping up on you here in Australia and my hubby last week was looking like he might get some type of head cold too. Do you take any vitamins? Zinc and Vitamin C will help your immune system, whilst giving it a little boost. I swear it helps reduce the symptoms of a common cold :)

In regards to your diet - everyones body reacts differently to different foods - so its great that you are tracking what you are eating, as it will allow you to change it up if you need to or want to in the future!

My diet is pretty similar :). I tend to focus on high protein, healthy fats and low carb (for me I try and keep it under 60g) But if I need to change it up I do!

A few weeks ago I was having little to no energy around 3 - 4pm - but just by adding some rolled oats every other day to my breakfast, it really did give me a boost. I generally use either Uncle Tobys or the good old Quaker Oats - both made from wholegrain and very similar in the nutrient breakdown. - No sodium in Quaker though :)

Half a cup: 150 calories, 27g carbs, 1g sugar, 5g protein.

And.... I hear you about bread! I absolutely love it!!!! But like you I know that its probably my worst enemy too! If I really decide I cant do without it, I try and limit it to the morning. My goto is a slice of Rye bread (which is quite dense and heavy) but is just yummy!!

One slice is: 90 calories, 16g carbs, 1g sugar, 3g protein

Hi there nice sharing. Im doing something similar right now but im struggling with meal plans. Im doing a no carb high protein high fat diet and was wondering what did you have daily, mind to share? i’ll just cut the carb part. I hate cheesy food (been told many times since i was little that fat is bad for health so my mind is fixated on it i know its not but i cant let go of that thought right up until now :( )

Im on day 2 and im struggling to eat :( i eat 2 scrambled eggs with cherry tomatoes at 1130am and chicken soup at 4pm and no snacking in between. Ive googled some recipes online but they all seems laden with cheese to make it heavier. Do u happen to know other ways i can make my meals ‘heavier’ without adding cheese? I really need to eat 1100-1200cals per day to avoid stalling.

Just made it to day 7 and weighed myself and I am 4.7kg down! That is crazy. Thats more weight than ive managed to lose in years and i never imagined that could happen all while still eating 5 times and hitting a 1300 calorie goal a day. Hopefully it stays off and I can keep losing. even a small amount a week from now would be awesome.

4.7kgs in 1 week is wonderful!! Well done! I'm nearly 7 weeks in and have lost 6.9kgs which I'm happy with! Remember as long as the scales are going down, even if it's only a couple hundred grams, that's a good thing!

Wow, Congrats, Keep at it Winner !

@Keira just read your thread, and wanted to know how you were getting on?

You must be nearly at the 4 week mark?

Hi Keira,

Thank for asking still going well , I had a week of as I went away with the fam and forgot to pack the pills.. that and 2 kids birthday parties below the Keto diet

Now down 7.3 kg, 6cm around my waist and 13 from around my belly bottom and love handles ( where most of weight sits)

Still keeping an accurate food diary using the MyFitnessPal app and training my butt off .. feeling fitter ,stronger but like everyone wishing I was seeing big drops as I am now back to the point where I always seem to stagnate and struggle to break through

@Bighorn, I just posted in the Mens corner lol.

That is such a great result!! Not to mention 6cm off your waist - bloody amazing!

Don't forget there is more than likely a time when your body will say, what the hell is happening and hold onto its weight (hopefully not for long).

You might want to up your calorie intake for 20% for a couple of days and then drop back down, and see how it responds. Others had even had good success in splitting their training session times. For example if your training at 5pm every day for a couple of hours. One session in the morning, another in the evening.

The body is a fickle thing and sometimes we need to trick it, so we can get it working the way we want too :)

Hello folks. This is my journey so far:
I started my Duromine 30mg tablets last Wednesday, 20th February.
I took my tablet at 6am each day.
Dry mouth was the only side effect for me that first day. Forced me to drink a lot more water.
Lots of energy.
Fitful sleep that night but nothing too extreme.

Days 2 – 7 were the same, with my sleep returning to normal by Day 5 – Sunday. I have not weighed myself each day as I think that would be a bit too much for me.

I drink lots of water and very carefully watch what I eat and drink. I still have three meals a day but they are small meals. Very few carbs.
I don’t snack.
I have not drunk ANY ALCOHOL which is hard for me as I enjoy my wine.

I walked 6 of the 7 days - 7km before 8am to beat the heat. I even walked through the howling winds and rain of Cyclone Oma!

My starting weight was 79kg.
My weight after one week is 76.8 kg a loss of 2.2kg. I am very happy

I haven’t measured myself but I know that I have lost quite a few centimetres. I can see the difference in my stomach and feel the difference in my clothes. My husband can see the difference in me too.

Can’t wait for week two

I have also just started... day 5 for me. Apart from the sleeplessness, excessive thirst and a few mild headaches I feel pretty good!
Not sure if or when I will weigh myself.. the thought scares me!
Well done on your success so far and best of luck with the rest of your journey:)

Hello all, my name is Dawn. I hope to use this forum to document successful weightloss during my Duromine journey.

This is my second time on duromine, I briefly took it last year but quickly stopped due to outside stressors at the time and it was best for me to focus on some other personal stuff I was going through.

In January I reached my highest weight of 110kg and decided, with the support of my GP and dietician, that now is a good time for me to start working towards my goals.

I’ve been prescribed 2 months of 30mg and started on the first of this month just to make keeping track of things easier for me.

Here is my following weigh ins of the week.
  • 01/03- Weighed 105kg
  • 02/03-04/03 N/A
  • 05/05 Weighed 103.4kg
  • 06/05 Weighed 101.2kg
  • 07/05 (today) Weighed 101kg
Thus making 4kg weight loss!!!

I’m so excited to get back down to double digits!!! I hope the following week is good to me!

@DawnCanDoThis congrats on your first weeks weightless! You are doing great!

How have you been going over the weekend?

It’s so great to read this, my starting weight is close to yours (106kg) and it’s my first day on Duromine nice to read what someone at a similar starting weight lost in the first week. Just curious what you did food / exercise wise in this first week?
