Yeah im not too I overweight, my him fluctuates between 24.5 and 25....

I thought the same thing, so I did get a PT but she made me do exercises that weren't right for my body shape, I want to shred not gain mass...and my body gains muscle easily and now my pant size has gone up 2 sizes because she's built too much muscle in my legs so now I feel even more hideous :(

I got a cheap cross trainer for Xmas so hopefully that works...it's not a good one like the ones you get at a gym but I'm hoping till still work (it's quite a steep step and isn't smooth... if that makes sense which makes it slightly uncomfortable to use).

Thanks for your support misshell!

Hey well I tell you, your lucky coz people try hard to get the muscle to build up in their legs and ot just doesn't happen. Atleast not easily. The muscle builds in my legs too but still working on getting the fat around it off :). I use to be a runner at competition levels so my calfs are heaps muscly. Even when I was at my smallest weight of 50kg at 162cm tall, my calfs always looked big. Just keep up the good work (without turnin into a hulk :) ). Muscles look good on a female but the feminine kind. I use to weigh 98.7kg, iv been on duromine 30mg for 6 mths, 3months constant use, and the last 3 like every other day. I have scoliosis so the doc prescribed D to me coz the pain of the back was much worse with all that weight. Im 70kg now and after im finished this last dose, i should be rite to keep the weight off. I use to sit there and eat whole blocks of chocolate and crap, now even when I haven't taken the pill I cant even eat 2 bars. And no need to thank me for the support. It's my pleasure and its nice chatting with people who are on similar journeys with weight loss taking D. Hope all goes well, and happy new year! :)

Dont know why that last post went up three times :/

Hahaha 3 times the charm! Haha

Yeah well the unfortunate thing about those 'muscly' legs of mine is that they're still surrounded by cellulite too haha
Seems like we have a similar build! I'm 162 cm too great job on your weightloss! You should be so proud of yourself! I really hope I get some results I think the hardest think is comparing myself to my friends...they seem
So skinny compared to me but half the time I don't know whether it's a distorted perception...whether I am...I don't lnow I used to have anorexia and weighed 35kg...so my self perception is still crappy but the scales tell me it's right....I feel like my body has to be one extreme or the other! And now I'm worried I've stuffed it all up so now I'll never be able to lose weight just to be healthy is all I want.

I wish you all the luck with everything I'm so happy it's worked for you!
Happy new year to you too!!!!!

35kg!!!! Holy moly thats small. I was gonna even say to you before that dramatic weight loss like from things like eating disorders or drug use etc, will throw the body out of wack and makes it easy to put weight on. It messes up the metabolism. That definitely might play a part in why your having a bit of trouble getting to your ideal weight. I totally know how it feels to compare yourself with friends. I feel for you, especially if you were
anorexic, coz to go through that I could only imagine that you saw yourself with a distorted perception, even though 35kg is crazy small, and comparing yourself with others, all together would of been emotionally draining. I hope you dont think like that now. You sound like your on the rite track and after hearing how small you were, im glad to hear you have a bit of meat on your bones :). and thank you in regards to your comments on my weight loss. I am really stoked with what iv so far accomplished. I find myself staring at the mirror and not being horrified by what I see now. Plus its a bonus when you get stares out in public that arent of judgement but instead they checking you out :). It always makes a girl feel good :)

I was on day 2 of D and eating low cals stuff before i realized they arent actually low cal after i recorded them in a calorie counter :(

it was 914cal i was aiming at 700-800cal of regular eating not really starving.

Starting again today day 3 using calorie counter - perhaps u can give it a go too? Im sure u have avoided unhealthy food by now but some healthy food can be high in cals too :)

Good luck and dont give up just yet

I used to have anorexia as well but now I'm obese. Do many people go from one to the other? I'm only on 15mg and I want to loose about 50 kg, I know , I'm a big fat cow. My psychiatrist is not happy that I'm on them as apparently if you've had anorexia you are not meant to take them. I really want to take them, was in hospital last Saturday as I was dizzy and fainting, discharged myself. Have felt better this week, am following a stricter diet and adding in 30 min on the bike each day

Hi all

I've been on 30mg for two months now. The first month I lost about a kilo, but I'm now almost at the end of the second month and not only have I not lost any extra weight I've put back on the weight I lost in the first month.

I'm definitely eating less, but I don't have any side effects whatsoever. I've had a dry mouth maybe three times in two months so that might not even be related to Duromine.

Not sure what to do, I tried Duromine as a last resort after trying all sorts of eating plans (I tried to make lifestyle changes rather than just dieting), and different types of exercise.

I'm going to the gym regularly, I have a PT and I burn roughly 450 calories in 30 minutes. Trying to eat as well as I can, and I'm getting a decent amount of sleep each night. It's worrying me though that an actual weight loss drug (not just some weight loss supplement) isn't working. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I ask my doctor for the 40mg?

Ask your doctor to test your thyroid and other thing which may affect your weight loss.

I've had it tested a few times. First time the levels were normal. Second time the levels were high, but not quite high enough to be prescribed medicine, and the last time they'd dropped back to normal again. :(

Hi, I am having the same problem. I lost 4kg in the 1st month and in the second I GAINED 2kg. I was on 30mg and felt hungry still and so much so I felt sick as I didn't feel like eating. I am active with my horses so get plenty of exercise. I am definitely eating less and I am eating better. I went back to the doctor and she has given me a 1 month script for the 40mg but wants me to go back in a month because my blood pressure was borderline so she wants to keep an eye on that.

Lexi just be careful of wot u think u are burning at gym....my $200 heart rate guru band gave me reading like that but I borrowed trainers 2k one as she told me most in a full on hour was 500-550 anyway I was doing just under 400 in a hour ....half as much...and I work hard...as for ur eating...my first week 2kg 2-4 week nothing....I was eating less but not enough less...members here pointed out sometimes we eat from habit or emotions n not hunger...duromine only takes away the hunger not the habit...so now if I'm" hungry" I change wot I'm doing to break the boredom, I then make myself wait 30min and then if I'm still hungry I have my meal...not a snack my meal...it took about 3 weeks before I realised that the habit was gone and the tablets were working...now it's oh shit it's 3pm n I haven't eaten oh well might as well wait for dinner ....stick with it

What a great reply. I realised that I was still snacking out of habit but to try and help with this instead of snacking on 'naughty' foods I am snacking on things like raw beans, carrots etc. They give me the satisfaction of chewing and crunch, which is what I crave more than the actual taste of food. I am slowly starting to wean myself off the snacking with the help of the Duromine.

Hi!

I've been taking duromine 40mg for 7 days now but it's not having any effect on me! The only side effect I get is a dry mouth. I've never felt any different, still hungry, no energy, sleeping well.
The first day I took it at 1:45pm, I was waiting to feel different or 'high' but it was if I never even took it! I was even in bed by 10pm that night!

I'm so confused & annoyed as this is the highest dose I don't understand why it wouldn't work!

This is my second day on 30mg and still feeling hungry and tired. I take it around 9ish a.m do housework straight away and I feel a little energy. Then felt tired again so sat down but then forced myself to do an hr on the treadmill. Had lunch fish and salad. Think maybe you just have to make yourselves get up. But I too slept well. Will see how the weight loss goes by the end of the week. Good luck!

I think it works different for everybody. Maybe you should give it a few weeks. As long as you do not feel sick try to stick it out and see how it goes. They say it builds up in your body.

I've had zero side affects from 30mg, but weight is still slowly shifting. I thought I'd actually gained this week, but I really just can't count. I've had my appetite back since day 3 or 4 but don't eat nearly as much. The tiredness bugs me. I want all the energy people rave about! :p
