Hi All! I just turned 75, and have reached the age where "spare parts" are necessary. My husband retires in late 2024, and I want to be in good shape to go on the three month exploration of Europe we have planned. I won't be able to do it at this weight!
Two years ago I paid my last visit to my Cardiologist - I weighed 114.8 kg! I have dieted sporadically ever since, but only got serious in July this year when the doctor told me I needed two new hips. Since the visit to the cardiologist I have lost 26.7 kg. My heart is fine, no problems.
I follow a very standard 1200 calories a day diet, but am now losing VERY slowly because I can't walk far. I now weigh 88.1 but am determined to get back down to 62 kg. I have found some excellent products in supermarkets to make the diet easier, and regularly eat cake, brownies and pizza within my 1200 calorie allowance.
I would post photos of my last big diet effort 24 years ago: me at my daughter's wedding (October 1998, 112 kg) and with my first grandson (October 2000, 62 kg). Unfortunately I can't find a way to do that? However I have posted a video of my dog Buster, who would REALLY like it if I could walk him like I used to!!! He is such a sweetie, but my right hip has reached the stage of partly dislocating, often, and we have to walk on the road so I just CAN'T! He just loves our cat Junior though, and cats in general.
I have to say, having shot hips is the best motivation EVER!
I do not and will not take any form of drug to help me, character should be enough.
